Free Sign-Making SVG Files

Fifteen free sign-making SVG files, drawn for real tooling: every letter is a closed vector path (no fonts to install), single-color, and clean enough to v-carve, laser, or cut in vinyl. Made by a Kentucky CNC sign shop, free for personal and commercial craft use.

License — free, with one ask

You can: cut, carve, engrave, or print these designs for yourself, for gifts, and for products you sell. No purchase, no signup, no attribution required on the physical item.

You can't: resell or redistribute the digital files themselves.

The ask: if you feature these files on a website, blog, or video, credit this page — bluegrassgifts.com/pages/free-sign-svgs. That link is what keeps the pack free and growing.

Working with these files

Every file imports directly into Carbide Create, Easel, VCarve, LightBurn, Cricut Design Space, and Silhouette Studio. Because the text is already converted to paths, what you see is exactly what cuts — no font substitution surprises. Scale freely; vectors don't lose quality. For v-carving, the serif faces here carve beautifully with a 60° bit — our v-carve depth guide covers bit choice and depth math, and the board foot calculator will size the lumber for whatever you're building. Sizing letters for reading distance? Use the letter height chart and calculator.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these SVG files really free for commercial use?

Yes. Cut them, carve them, and sell the finished signs without paying anything or crediting us on the product. The only restriction is on the files themselves: you may not resell or redistribute the digital SVGs.

Why is the text converted to paths instead of live text?

Live text requires the viewer to have the same font installed; when it's missing, the software silently substitutes another font and ruins the layout. Converted paths lock the exact letterforms into the file, so the design opens identically in every program.

What software opens SVG files for CNC or Cricut?

Any modern cutting software: Carbide Create, Easel, VCarve, Fusion 360, LightBurn, Cricut Design Space, Silhouette Studio, and free editors like Inkscape. Import the SVG, scale it to your blank, and assign toolpaths as usual.
