A Kentucky Shirt About Holding It All Together
A Kentucky shirt ought to say something true about the people who live there. "Holdin' It All Together" shows the Bluegrass State cracked clean in half and welded back into one piece with a glowing stacked-dimes bead — because fixing what breaks and keeping it running is about as Kentucky as it gets.
It fits the farmer, the shop hand, the nurse working doubles, the parent running the whole calendar — anybody who is the weld in their world. The line lands two ways on purpose: it is a state pride shirt and a quiet compliment at the same time.
The Nitty-Gritty
- Fabric: Gildan 64000 Softstyle, 100% ring-spun US cotton at 4.5 oz/yd² (heathers blended)
- Print: full-color direct-to-garment, inked into the fibers, not a vinyl patch
- Fit: unisex, true to size, S–5XL, taped shoulders, ribbed collar
- Collar label: our printed Bluegrass Roots Basics mark — no itchy tag
- Colors: Black, Dark Chocolate, Navy, Military Green, Charcoal, and Maroon
The Design Up Close
The state reads as a slab of weathered steel in rust browns and oxblood, riveted at the edges, with one golden bead running the full crack from the western tip to the eastern hills. A small star marks the heart of the state, and the Bluegrass Roots mark is etched beside it at map-label size — found only on a second look.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who is this Kentucky shirt for?
Anybody with Kentucky roots and anybody holding a family, a farm, or a crew together. It reads as state pride at first glance and as a compliment on the second, which makes it an easy gift when you want to say thank you without a speech.
Is the print durable enough for everyday wear?
Yes. The artwork is a direct-to-garment print that bonds into the ring-spun cotton rather than sitting on top of it, so it machine washes normally and will not peel. Wash inside out in cold water to keep the colors deepest longest.
What is the fit like on these Kentucky t shirts?
A true-to-size unisex cut in S through 5XL on the Gildan Softstyle blank — soft 4.5 oz ring-spun cotton with taped shoulders and a ribbed collar. It layers under a flannel in the fall and stands alone all summer.
Cut from the same cloth as our welder shirt humor — the bead on this state is stacked dimes, and the folks who notice that detail are exactly who we made it for.
